Accessibility Statement for Women Writers Online
The Northeastern University Women Writers Project is committed to ensuring that people with disabilities have full and equitable access to our digital resources. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone, and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.
Women Writers Online is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA. “Partially conformant” means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. The “Evaluation Report” section on this page contains more information.

Roadmap for Remediation
The Women Writers Project continues to work toward the goal of becoming fully compliant with level AA of WCAG 2.2. The revised WWO interface (released June 2025) included fixes for a good number of known accessibility issues. However, we are now aware of more accessibility barriers — mostly minor, but still important to resolve. We hope to achieve full compliance by the end of 2025.
Please see the Women Writers Online Accessibility Conformance Report for the WCAG criteria relevant to the issues below.
